Amy Benskin
Amy’s love for the water started in high school, as she spend her summers teaching sailing and racing in regattas. She spent two years travelling around Australia and Thailand teaching scuba diving and then returned to Canada to do COLT in 2005. She fell in love with the lodge, the people, and the lifestyle and instructed at the lodge for many seasons between semesters at TRU’s Adventure Guide diploma, and also spent a few seasons raft guiding, sea kayak guiding, and teaching scuba diving. Somewhere in there, she was also Chief Instructor at Strathcona Park Lodge for a season! Amy teaches various programs within the Program including WW-Canoeing , Sea Kayaking, the whitewater expedition and surf kayaking.
When she is not with the COLT students Amy keeps herself busy, always. Scuba Diving Instructor/boat captain for Rockfish Divers, as well as a sea kayak guide. She loves to climb, bike, hike, and do yoga, and is a math teacher.
